Albemarle Middle School is a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Many of our staff members have been directly affected by cancer, and we hope to make some small difference in the fight. Our fund raising goal this year is $1,350. We met and exceeded our goal last year of $1,300, so we have set our sights even higher for this school year.
Here are some way we support the American Cancer Society:
- Staff Jeans Fridays
- Cancer Awareness Days
- Holiday fundraisers
If you have any questions or suggestions about AMS participation in Relay for Life, please contact Cindy Haymond: firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information about American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Each month, we focus on one type of cancer. During that time, information about that type of cancer will be visible on the AMS Relay for Life bulletin board. Students also get one Friday during that month to wear a shirt that represents the awareness color for that type of cancer. To wear the shirt, students pay $1 at the Bulldog in the morning. Shirts must still adhere to the Stanly County Schools dress code. All money raised goes directly to the ACS Relay for Life.
This year's schedule will be released at the start of the 2014-2015 school year.
