Principal's Message

Dear AMS Family,

Hello! My name is Reginald K. Jackson.  I am honored and privileged to be the new principal here at Albemarle Middle School.  I hold licenses that include completing a dual degree of the elementary education teacher licensure program (K-6) and the teacher licensure program in special education (K-12) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I also hold a Middle Grades Science (6-9) certification.  I have over 25 years of experience as an educator and possess a Master’s in Education from North Carolina State University and a Master’s of School Administration facilitated through the prestigious Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPERS) program.  The program is funded by the North Carolina Alliance for School Leader Development and is administered through UNCG School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations and reflects its ongoing commitment to leadership in rural schools.

In the upcoming year, I will be getting to know each of you and your students and working with the understanding that I will be leading such an outstanding academic team here at AMS to facilitate our students’ exploration and discovery about themselves and the world around them.  During the year, we will be working to provide essential curriculum content, instructional activities, and assessments as it relates to a vision of:

“Preparing and motivating our students for a rapidly changing world by instilling in them crucial thinking skills, a global perspective, and a respect for the core values of honesty, accountability, perseverance, and compassion.”
